Born in Sicily, Giuseppe (“Joseph”) Catanese immigrated to Cleveland’s Little Italy as a young child. Joe became a skillful baker by apprenticing at Corbo’s, one of Little Italy’s finest bakeries. In 1972, Joe opened Giuseppe’s Pizza in a tiny storefront in Willowick, Ohio. While Giuseppe’s is famous for its Sicilian-style square-shaped pan pizza, the family-owned company has grown to include a wide variety of house made Italian specialties from chicken parmesan to freshly baked submarine sandwiches – all made from scratch daily with only the finest and freshest ingredients. Recently, the pizzeria expanded to include Giuseppe's Wholesale division, led by Joe’s oldest son, Frank. The division manufactures and distributes pre-baked pizza crusts, sheeted pizza dough and fresh frozen dough balls to various food service organizations out of its Willowick facility. The Catanese family’s dedication to quality and consistency has earned Giuseppe’s the highest customer satisfaction and loyalty for more than 42 years.
